5 Steps to Get a Prospect to Respond to You

In sales, its very common to come across clients or prospects that are not responding even if they have made a commitment for a discussion or a payment.. As a competent salesperson, you should expect it from 90% of your clients especially if you are dealing remotely with Digital Channels.

Here are 5 steps to tackle with these clients which make them harder not to respond to you !

1. Check whether your client is genuinely in an emergency

We always assume that the client is ready to respond for us and we forget that he/she has tons of other priorities and emergency situations. Being more than just a cold salesperson, you should be empathetic and follow up gently for a schedule and open the doors to let them talk about their emergency or critically busy activities.

Do not make the mistake with the assumption that prospects and clients are not responding because they are not anymore interested or gone with the competition. Make sure you clarify that first and check if they are genuinely going through any challenges.

2. Send personalized messages based on pain points you have identified

As the next step, to differentiate yourself from another salesperson who is just following up now you have to make sure you have mapped the pain points or gainers to draft an effective personalized message.

This will bring a unique perspective and bring the attention and motivation to the clients/prospects to try to respond for you.

You can always utilize the digital channels — Facebook / Instagram / LinkedIn to get connect and share your personalized message to get the attention.

3 Share success stories of how other competitive similar business benefit from you

People love to see success stories and statistics! especially when you know the pain points and the requirements of your prospect / client, they would appreciate seeing how others have benefits.

On the other hand, this would build trust and make them contact you for more details even they will have other priorities as the success stories show a great credibility!

4 Share a personalized special promotion for them if they onboard with a limited time

Prospects never avoid special promotions, however, it should be personalized that make them feel the fear of losing and never being able to get it.

Your promotion should be stronger and appealing for the need which can bring with limited time. This will make them harder to avoid your message again.

5 Share a Keep In Touch Message — Digital Channels

One of the biggest mistakes salespeople does is, they just give up on the client and take that frustration throughout!

In most cases, clinets will come back and you should make sure to communicate with them prior that doors are still open and how they can get in touch with you.

Therefore, make sure you utilize Digital Channels Like Facebook messenger / Whatsapp / Viber / LinkedIn and make it easy to reach you as well.
